One-Day Marriage Officiant License

NEW One-Day Marriage Officiant License

Beginning March 28, 2023 New York State Domestic Relations Law enables individuals to apply for permission to be designated as a One-Day Marriage Officiant in order to solemnize a particular couples marriage. 

A One-Day Marriage Officiant license will only be issued if the marriage couple has a current marriage license issued from the Southampton Town Clerk’s Office. 

The names, dates of birth and addresses of the parties to be married must be listed on the application exactly as this information appears on the couple's marriage license.

The license is only valid for the parties to be married and ceremony date as stated on the One-Day Marriage Officiant application.

The application and rec must be received  at least 10 days before the date of the ceremony to allow for return mailing.

To apply:

1. Complete, print, date and sign the One-Day Marriage     
   Officiant License application 
   
   
2. Mail the following:    
   a.    Completed application
   b.    Copy of current Driver's License
   c.    Self-addressed stamped envelope
   d. Check for $25.00 payable to the "Town of Southampton"
    to

3. Once we receive the items above we will approve your One-Day Marriage Officiant License and mail back to you in the self-addressed stamped envelope you provide.
   
   
4. If you need to expedite the process you may apply in person at our Southampton Office Monday - Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm. Please bring the items listed above in #1 & #2 when you come to apply.
