March 2026 EVENT SCHEDULE

Wed, March 4, 6pm. STPS Board Meet.  All are welcome! Please email Miles at rmrgeneral@gmail.com for the Zoom link a day or two before the board meet.

Sat, March 7, 8am-9am. Narrow Lane Cleanup.  Help STPS clean up litter from our adopted road. Meet on Narrow Lane and the east corner of Norris Lane, Bridgehampton. Bring gloves. Free 2026 membership to new volunteers! Leader: Dai Dayton, 631-745-0689.

Sat, March 7, 9:30-11:30am. Atlantic Gully 40th Anniversary Hike.  See one of our latest achievements--the Gully trail leading to the perimeter of what became the Atlantic Golf Club in the 1990s, then onto a loop in the Noyac Woods. Total distance is 3.8 miles. Meet at 1164 Scuttle Hole Road, where a private drive leads to parking at a new trailhead and scenic entry to the Gully. Hike leader: Tim Corwin, 631 204-7821.

Sat, March 7th, 12:00pm. Horses on Trails (HOT) Barcelona Ride.  Barcelona Point is the shore of the Linda Gronlund Memorial Nature Preserve (formerly Barcelona Neck) in East Hampton. There are beautiful trails meandering through forests and along the beautiful Sag Harbor Bay. DEC permit is required, and parking is extremely limited therefore there is only room for a few horse trailers (not gooseneck). First come first serve, so RSVPing is mandatory; that way we can build a wait list, if needed. Helmets required. Please RSVP to Deb by telephone: 631-312-1644.

Sun, Mar 8, 10am-Noon. Black Duck Ramble.  Meet on Redcreek Road about 100 feet off of Route 24 in Flanders within Hubbard County Park, where you’ll see a gated driveway. Will traverse the black blaze. See Black Duck Lodge, look at the Hubbard cemetery, view Mill creek and the fish ladder. Then come back and follow the brown blaze to Peconic Bay. Depending on the wetlands' condition, we may make it to the shore. Less than 4 miles. Leader: Liz Karpin, 631-819-8183.

Sun, March 15, 10am-Noon. SYS to Split Rock Hike.  Starting at the Southampton Youth Services building, we will hike to Split Rock via the Paumanok Path and the SYS overlook. 3 miles round trip. SYS is at 1370A Majors Path, Southampton. Meet at the STPS shed (once in SYS, take the 2nd right turn and go to end).  Reservations not required. Leaders: Eric & Hilary Woodward, 631-903-7895.

Sat, March 21, 10am-11am. Take a Hike in the Long Pond Greenbelt.  Meet at the parking lot of Mashashamuet Park, 395 Main Street, Sag Harbor. May you have warm words for a cold day on this St. Patrick's Day! Join Friends of the Long Pond Greenbelt for a leisurely stroll through a portion of the amazing Long Pond Greenbelt and a reading of a poem in memory of Joe Lane. Leader: Dai Dayton, 631-745-0689.

Sun, March 22, 10am-Noon. Spinney Road Trek. Meet at the parking lot on Spinney Road off of Route 24 in Flanders for a hike along the Paumanok Path to Maple Swamp. Dress for tick prevention.  4-to-4.5-mile hike. Leader: Liz Karpin, (631) 819-8183.

Sat, March 28, 10am-11:30am. Dancing with Daffodils Hike at Elizabeth Morton Wildlife Preserve.  Hike to the beach along blooming daffodils and then along the beach to Jessup's Neck with views of Great Peconic Bay. Co-sponsored by the Cutchogue New Suffolk Library hiking group. Children welcome. Bring bird feed. Meet at the Refuge entrance on Noyac Road, Sag Harbor about 200 feet East of Orchard Avenue. The US Fish & Wildlife Service charges a $4.00 parking fee to support this Refuge. Leader: Miles Robert, rmrgeneral@gmail.com.
