Suffolk County Down Payment Assistance Program:
Provides first-time homebuyers with federal funds for a portion of the down payment 75% down payment assistance is available towards the purchase of a principal residence, up to a maximum of $14,000 or $12,000, depending on income level. Landlord/Tenant Dispute Education and Resolution:
Provides housing counseling for landlord/tenant-rights and responsibilities, rent payment increases and eviction situations and mortgage counseling to homeowners. Pre-purchase, pre-rental and mortgage default predatory lending counseling. An appointment may be required for some counseling.

SONYMA Mortgage Programs
The State of New York Mortgage Agency (SONYMA) offers five mortgage programs to assist first-time homebuyers with the purchase of a home in New York State. The five mortgage programs feature competitive interest rates, low down payment requirements, flexible underwriting guidelines, no prepayment penalties and down payment assistance. Each of these features is designed to make your home purchase more affordable. All SONYMA loans are financed through the sale of tax exempt bonds.

- Graduate to Homeownership Program
SONYMA offers low-interest rate mortgages, down payment assistance, and homebuyer education resources for recent college graduates purchasing
their first home in certain upstate New York communities. - Homes for Veterans Program
A program specifically designed for U.S. military veterans and active duty U.S. military personnel. Allows a qualified veteran or active duty - U.S. military personnel to apply for any of the below listed SONYMA programs with more favorable terms.
- RemodelNY
The RemodelNY Program provides competitive interest rate financing to qualified first time homebuyers to purchase a home and pay for any necessary or desired repairs. It is an enhancement that can be utilized with the Achieving the Dream and Low Interest Rate Mortgage Programs. - Achieving the Dream
Features lower interest rates than other SONYMA programs. Available to lower income first-time homebuyers. SONYMA offers a mortgage product that finances both the purchase and renovation of a home in need of improvements or repairs.
