Please be advised that this weekend, Saturday October 5th, and Sunday October 6th, from 5AM to 9PM, the MTA - LIRR will be replacing the bridge timbers and installing new poles on the South Country Bridge on Montauk Highway, in Eastport. To ensure safety, one lane of traffic will be closed at a time on this open deck bridge, located between Eastpond Lane and Private Road.
Please use Old Country Road as an alternative route during this period. Additionally, please note that MTA Police Department personnel will be present to ensure safety and facilitate traffic management.

Track Work - Montauk Branch
- The LIRR will be continuing its track maintenance work in the form along the Montauk Branch from Saturday, October 5th at 12:30 AM to Monday, October 7that 4:00 AM.
- This is part of our annual track maintenance program which ensures our infrastructure is in a state of good repair.
- Some of you may have seen my other email regarding our bridge work on South Country Road/Montauk Highway in Eastport, which is part of this outage.
- If you would like further information on this, please let me know and I will forward you that notification.
- Furthermore, we will be performing a number of track maintenance items between Sayville and Patchogue, including mud spot remediation, thermite welding and track surfacing.
- While this work is being performed, train service between Babylon and Montauk will be suspended in both directions.
- Free LIRR shuttle buses will transport customers in either direction between Babylon and Montauk, operating across three designated zones: Please note that local travel between different zones will not be available.
