Southampton Town Senior Services had a successful start to their new Water Aerobics program at the Suffolk County Community College Health and Wellness Center in Riverhead this month. In response to the growing senior population on the East End, Senior Services expanded its offerings this fall. Currently, 28 seniors are enrolled in the program.
“I’m thrilled with the response this has gotten. Senior Services does a great job offering programs that respond to the different wants and needs of our residents,” said Councilwoman Cyndi McNamara, liaison to Senior Services. “Thank you to Heather Smith for organizing this fantastic program.“
Heather Smith, Recreation Program Planner for Senior Services stated, “What a start! Not only did the water aerobics provide numerous physical benefits for our senior population, but they were also engaged in the social well-being of the program. The laughter echoed poolside, and the smiles were endless.”
The program is held on Thursday mornings, now until December 19. For more information or to register, please call Heather Smith at 631-537-2375
